A third Airbus Military A400M, known as MSN 3, has successfully completed its maiden flight, flying alongside MSN 1 and MSN 2.

MSN 3 is part of the five-aircraft fleet that will conduct the 3,700-hour flight-test programme in preparation of its first delivery.

It can carry a medium flight test instrumentation load and will be primarily used for auto-flight development, aircraft systems development and route-proving.

During the flight test in Seville, the three-A400M fleet passed the milestone of 100 test flights and 400 flight hours.

The A400M is equipped with the most advanced technologies to fly higher, faster and further, while retaining high manoeuvrability, low speed, and short, soft and rough airfield capabilities.

Its cargo hold has been designed to carry large equipment needed for military and humanitarian disaster relief missions.
