Array Information Technology (ARRAY) has been awarded a contract to maintain and support the US Air Force’s (USAF) defence repair information logistics system (DRILS).

Working alongside Total Quality Systems, the company will supply application services support to the vital maintenance data system over the next five years.

The Array team has leveraged several years of expertise supporting the air force missions to build a successful solution for the competitively awarded contract.

Array defense client executive Mark Douglas said the DRILS becomes the sixth major logistics system in the company’s air force portfolio.

"DRILS’s ability to perform root-cause failure analyses for avionics components has led to hundreds of millions in cost savings for the F-16 fleet," Douglas said.

Developed by TQS, the DRLIS is a specialised web-based application designed for rapid collection and retrieval of the air force’s maintenance information, simultaneously enhancing the consistency of the collected data.

Adaptable to various maintenance and computing environments, the system specifically provides item unique identification tracking that allows for expert analysis of repair components and depot maintenance processes.

DRLIS also provides a listing of frequently replaced parts, helping operators to better understand the nature of unit failure, accurately determine repair costs, and also forecast parts requirements for future production.

Array has also secured contracts to support USAF in modernisation of its depot maintenance accounting and production system-time and accounting (DMAPS TAA) system, maintenance planning and execution (MP&E) system and the integrated logistics system-supply (ILS-S) this year.
