Raytheon subsidiary BBN Technologies has secured a multi-year contract to assist the US Air Force Research Laboratory (AFRL) in the development of the Sirius programme.
Under the $10.5m contract, Raytheon will develop an international detective-themed game to teach users the bias-mitigation strategies that potentially inhibit proper decision-making.

Raytheon BBN Sirius co-principal investigator Alice Leung said: "The ability to recognise biases and reduce their effects on human information analysis could lead to better decision-making in a wide variety of critical areas."
The company will specifically focus on six types of bias: fundamental attribution error, confirmation bias, blind spot, anchoring bias, representative bias and projection bias.
The Intelligence Advanced Research Projects Activity (IARPA) will be the contracting activity.
