Northrop Grumman has received three task orders from the US Air Force (USAF) under an existing contract to support A-10 Thunderbolt jets.
Under the $4.9m maintenance task order, the company will identify risk factors and develop maintenance strategies for selected air force systems and subsystems.
The $6.1m structural integrity programme (ASIP) Modernisation III task is for the continuation of previous work and is focused on modernising the A-10’s structural integrity.
The $7.9m ASIP Legacy III task order involves investigation and evaluation of A-10 weapon system accidents and incidents, in addition to ensuring safety and effectiveness, as well as maintenance of the A-10 engineering database.
The orders totalling $19m were awarded under the A-10 Thunderbolt life cycle programme support (TLPS) indefinite delivery, indefinite quantity contract.
