Boeing has supported the US Air Force (USAF) in the first powered launch of a miniature air-launched decoy jammer (MALD-J) from a B-52 Stratofortress aircraft.
During the test, the electronic jammer was launched from a B-52 over the Gulf of Mexico at the Eglin Air Force Base test range in Florida, US.

The avionics software onboard the B-52 has been designed by Boeing, which controls and launches the Raytheon-built MALD-J.
The newest MALD-J variant has added capabilities to orbit over an area and jam enemies radars.
Boeing B-52 programme director Scot Oathout said the software has expanded and transformed the role of the B-52 from offensive to a more defensive jet, defending US and allied aircraft in combat zones.
