The Islamic Republic of Iran Air Force (IRIAF) is planning to develop jet trainer aircraft to keep abreast with modern technologies and sciences.

IRIAF Commander Brigadier General Hassan Shah-Safi said that Iran was continuing to manufacture ‘advanced models of fighter jets, including Saeqeh (thunderbolt) and Azarakhsh (lightning)’.

The advances made by the IRIAF are in line with the Iranian military’s scientific breakthroughs.

Iran has recently unveiled a project to build a new generation of domestically manufactured Saeqeh fighter jets with enhanced features, which will include aerodynamic balance, missile and radar systems.

Iran has also launched several military hardware projects, including aerial and seaborne military vehicles such as submarines, combat frigates and various types of missiles, Press TV reports, quoting media sources.
