Iran is considering conducting a five-day nationwide air defence exercise in order to improve its air defence capabilities.
The exercise will include testing of Iranian long-range missiles similar to Russian S-300s and testing military equipment such as radar systems with a range of nearly 2,000 miles.
The air force, the national police, the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps, and the Basij force will take part in the three-stage war exercise.
Air Force Brigadier General Ahmad Miqani said the country’s upgraded military equipment will also be tested during the war games, according to the Wall Street Journal.
Air Force Colonel Faramarz Rouhafza said Iran intends to upgrade its anti-aircraft systems to defend the country against cruise missiles and ballistic missiles.
