The US Air Force has awarded a contract to General Dynamics Information Technology to support the distributed common ground system (DCGS) and Project Liberty.
Under the $49m contract, the firm will perform network and systems administration, hardware maintenance and logistics, and warehouse support for air force and air national guard DCGS sites.
General Dynamics will also provide support to Project Liberty, and squadron operations centres that support Predator and Reaper aircraft operations.
DCGS is the air force’s globally networked intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance weapon system.
Located at 20 networked sites, DCGS produces intelligence information collected by the U-2, RQ-4 Global Hawk, MQ-9 Reaper and MQ-1 Predator aircraft.
Project Liberty exploitation cells will provide sustainable, deployed full-motion video processing, exploitation and dissemination (PED) cells.
