The Royal Australian Air Force’s (RAAF) Project Vigilare has passed a site acceptance test at the Northern Regional Operational Centre (NROC).
Project Vigilare is a network-centric command and control system (NC3S) solution combining data from land, sea, air and space platforms, sensors, data links and intelligence agencies.

It will provide tactical and strategic surveillance and battlespace management operations across wide geographic regions.
During the test, the system successfully managed multiple datalinks concurrently from the site using assets deployed both in the Northern Territory and on the East Coast of Australia.
The datalinks connected test assets and operational assets such as RAAF F/A-18 Hornet aircraft.
Project Air 5333 Vigilare Defence Materiel Organisation project director Tim Malone said data feeds from over 45 different sensors and agencies using an enhanced defence department communications network demonstrated an integrated, high-fidelity command and control system capability.
