The US Air Force Research Laboratory has awarded a contract to Boeing to undertake a study to improve the command and control capabilities of the laboratory’s network assets.
The study will demonstrate improved situational awareness, visualisation and automated course-of-action processing for network environments during cyber attack.
The contractor will analyse the network operations, develop procedures and processes, and apply tools to enhance the capabilities.
A test system will be demonstrated that maintains positive command and control of cyber assets through automated alerts and actions enabling the air force to perform its missions under all network conditions.
The $1.2m contract will include Boeing-built common enterprise mission oriented architecture permitting easy generalisation of network interfaces and automated services.
The system will also support new features and capabilities to be incorporated without network disruption.
