The first of the 12 Yak-130s ordered by Russian Air force for initial and advanced training of the AF have been flight tested by builder Irkut Corporation.
The Russian Air Force will deploy the new-generation combat trainer for destroying aerial and ground targets in adverse combat situations apart from using it for combat training.
The craft’s advanced aerodynamics, avionics and systems will secure high efficiency in training and combat employment, enhanced flight safety and low cost of flight hour and service life.
The aircraft can take a combat load at nine suspension points reaching about 3,000kg with performance and maneuverability matching modern fighters at subsonic flight speed.
The Yak-130 is a key element in the Russian AF training suite that also includes integrated objective monitoring system, training computer-based classes, full-mission and part-task simulators.
