Mercury Systems has received an order from an unknown defence prime contractor for microelectronics to be used in airborne electronic warfare (EW).
Under the $3.8m-worth follow-on order, Mercury will deliver multi-chip module devices integrated into an advanced airborne electronic warfare system over the next several quarters.
Mercury Systems Microelectronic Secure Solutions group vice-president and general manager Iain Mackie said: “We are honoured to continue supplying trusted microelectronics, enabling our military forces’ most advanced airborne platforms to dominate the electromagnetic spectrum.
“Defence prime contractors and our military forces can count on Mercury’s next-generation business model for long-term supply continuity of the most affordable, compact and high-performance microelectronics solutions.”
Mercury said that its wide range of secure digital microelectronic solutions are designed and manufactured exclusively in its Defense Microelectronics Activity (DMEA)-trusted Advanced Microelectronics Center in Phoenix, Arizona, US.
The company’s advanced three-dimensional packaging technology is claimed to deliver maximum space-savings in a highly ruggedised ball grid array (BGA) package designed for adverse military environments.
