By GlobalDataThe aircraft sale was announced by Czech defence exporter Omnipol.
Omnipol said: “The contract includes the acquisition of 12 L-39NG aircraft, plus the training of pilots, instructors, ground crew and mechanics.
“Also included will be the supply of aircraft spare parts, as well as the supply of equipment for ground-based training, logistics support or specialised airport systems.
“This will give the customer the capability of complete pilot and ground crew training.”
The military trainer jet is a variant of L-39 Albatros. It was first rolled out in October 2018 and completed flight trials in early 2020.
The L-39 Albatros is a two-seat, single-engine aircraft produced for the Czechoslovakian Air Force.
Powered by turbofan engines, the aircraft was later upgraded to the L-59 Super Albatros.
The company did not disclose the contract value. Deliveries are expected to take place from 2023 until 2024.
Earlier this month, the Uzbek Air Force took delivery of the last of six L-39C Albatros aircraft.
The aircraft have undergone general overhaul and partial modernisation of on-board equipment as part of a contract signed in 2018.
