Valued at C$56m ($40.85m), the integrated training solution contract was awarded by the General Headquarters (GHQ) of the UAE.

CAE will provide academic, simulator and live flying training for the UAE Air Force's fleet of RPA systems over the next five years.

The contract includes designing courseware and comprehensive curriculum for academic and classroom training, including fundamentals courses for RPA pilots and sensor operators.

The company will also design courses specific to the UAE Air Force's medium-altitude long endurance (MALE) RPA platforms such as the General Atomics Predator family of RPAs.

CAE will help the UAE Air Force and Air Defence in establishing a training centre to conduct all RPA type conversion and mission training.

The company will also provide a full suite of synthetic training equipment, including desktop trainers, sensor operator trainers, unmanned aerial system mission trainers and high-fidelity, type-specific mission trainers, in support of the ground-based training system.

CAE instructors will also provide live flying instruction for UAE Air Force RPA aircrews, besides classroom and simulator training.

The Khalifa Bin Zayed Air College will develop an RPA Pilot Fundamentals training course and training instruction as part of the cadet curriculum, in support of CAE.

CAE Maritime Middle East will serve as the prime contractor and programme management company in Abu Dhabi.
