IEE has been contracted by Boeing Defense, Space & Security to upgrade passive attack display (PAD) for the F-15C/D Strike Eagle.
The contract requires IEE to design and develop an upgrade to the F-15 PAD to make it compatible with the advance display core processor (ADCP) II.
Using an ARINC 818 fibre optic interface, PAD receives video from, and exchange messages with the ADCP II.
IEE CEO Tom Whinfrey said: “This flight-qualified avionics display with the new ARINC 818 circuit card assembly adds a high-performance digital video feature to the stable of IEE products.
“Not just for ADCP II compatibility,” he adds, “but for any other avionics mission computer.”
The ADCP II facilitates the centralisation of a number of critical display functions, such as the consolidation of multi-window configurations into one complete screen image for distribution to display units, IEE said in a statement.

By GlobalDataAs part of the upgrade programme, the F15-PAD received 12 programmable discreet interfaces, each of which can be provisioned by the ADCP II to three different types of inputs and outputs to support aircraft functions, the statement said.
The other features of PAD include 10.4-inch XGA sunlight readable and NVIS compatible flat panel display; 1024 x 768 resolution, 24 bit colour AMLCD; wide viewing angle ± 80° all around.
The upgraded PAD also features high performance embedded computer and avionic interfaces such as ARINC 818 (2.125 Gb/s) over multi-mode fibre, two MIL-STD-1553 BC/RT, one RS-170 video output, gigabit Ethernet and 24 Discrete IO.
