IT solutions provider American Systems has received an $85m contract to continue fighter test services for the US Air Force Operational Test and Evaluation Center (AFOTEC).
The five-year contract will see the company provide operational test and evaluation services relating to fourth and fifth-generation fighter acquisition programmes that cover a broad range of technical and analytical operational test solutions.
These integrated test functions for the USAF and other multiservice / multi-country fighter aircraft include test design, planning, execution, and reporting to senior US Department of Defense (DoD) officials.
American Systems president and CEO Peter Smith said: "American Systems is proud to continue to provide operational test support for the largest DoD acquisition programme in history, supporting test planning, execution, and reporting for three US services and nine partner nations that will operate the F-35 Lightning II, as well as the front line USAF Air Superiority Fighter, the F-22A.
"It is an honour to support the mission of our armed forces and our allies through our contributions to the next-generation of fighter aircraft."
Work will be carried out at Edwards Air Force Base, California, and Nellis Air Force Base, Nevada, and will support secondary locations across the country.
