Iran has launched two new indigenously manufactured air defence command-and-control (C2) systems during a ceremony at Khatam ol-Anbia Air Defense Base in Tehran, Iran.
Called ‘Fakour’ and ‘Rassoul’, the systems are designed to collect information from all databases and information gathering centres linked to the air defence system, passive and active radars, missile systems and adjacent C2 centres to provide an integrated image and map of the region for fully independent command-and-control of all land-based and air-based defence systems.

Readily deployable in any region and under harsh geographical conditions, the tactical C2 systems are mobile and have a wide range of applications in electronic warfare (EW) domain, as reported by Fars News Agency.
The systems can use an exclusive microwave network and the national fibre-optic and wired and wireless communication network, while offering real-time assurance of target interception and destruction.
Attended by Khatam ol-Anbia Air Defense Base commander brigadier general Farzad Esmayeeli and some other high-raking commanders, the ceremony also witnessed the launch of Matla ol-Fajr radar system that transmits audio and data to the nearest defence units and C2 centres.
Apart from providing secure and stable tactical communication, the radar is also claimed to be useful in information encryption, connection to national communication network, increasing the speed and accuracy of defence networks in transmitting battle-ground radar information to C2 centres, and establishing multi-layer communications for short, middle and long distances.
