October 2022 has seen an increase of 9.91% in the overall hiring activity when compared with September 2022.
IT jobs accounted for a 9.42% share in the industry’s total hiring activity in October 2022, registering a decrease of 1.22% over the last three-month average share.
Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations leads by classification in October 2022
Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations emerged as the leading IT occupation in Europe with a share of 52.25% in October 2022, a 10.54% rise over the previous month. Database and Network Administrators and Architects came in next, claiming a share of 20.29% in October 2022, marking a 16.78% month-on-month increase. In the third place was Computer and Information Research Scientists with a share of 13% in October 2022, a 30.49% rise from September 2022.

The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, accounted for a combined average growth of 20.96% in the overall IT recruitment activity of Europe’s aerospace, defence & security industry during October 2022 over previous month.
Thales posted 155 IT jobs in October 2022 and registered an increase of 91.36% over the previous month, followed by Airbus with 124 jobs and a 22.98% drop. QinetiQ Group with 101 IT jobs and James Fisher and Sons with 83 jobs, recorded a flat growth and a 7.79% rise, respectively, while Rheinmetall recorded a 43.33% decline with 68 job postings during October 2022.
Country-wise composition of IT hiring in Europe’s aerospace, defence & security industry
The UK commanded a leading presence in the region’s aerospace, defence & security industry IT hiring activity with a 36.45% share in October 2022, a 19.05% increase over September 2022. France featured next with a 26.37% share, up 43.71% over the previous month. Germany recorded a 25.03% share, a drop of 11.21% compared with September 2022.
Junior Level job postings dominate in October 2022
Junior Level jobs held a share of 69.99%, up by 12.5% from September 2022. Mid Level positions with a 19.08% share, registered a growth of 2.61% compared with the previous month.
In the third place was Entry Level job ads with 10.69% share, up 2.33% over September 2022, while Senior postings accounted for 0.24%, recording a month-on-month flat growth.
