The US Department of Defense (DoD) has selected BAE Systems for the development and delivery of next-generation mission technologies.
Selected by the US Defense Technical Information Center, BAE Systems will be one of 15 companies to compete for future research and development (R&D) task orders.
The task orders will be awarded by the US Air Force Installation Contract Agency (AFICA) / KD Offutt Air Force Base (AFB), Nebraska, as part of a nine-year, indefinite-delivery indefinite-quantity contract.
Designed to support the US DoD Information Analysis Center Program Management Office, the future task orders to be awarded under the contract will have a total ceiling value of $28bn.
Under the contract, the company will be responsible for providing fast, flexible, low-cost solutions across different technical disciplines in order to meet the current and future technology requirements of the US military.
BAE Systems Intelligence & Security Sector president Al Whitmore said: “This large-scale contract provides us with a tremendous opportunity to reach across BAE Systems and leverage our own internal research and development investments to help the DoD solve its most difficult mission challenges.
