The United States Air Force (USAF) has awarded a contract to Geospark Analytics to continue development of the latter’s Hyperion’s threat and risk assessment APIs for integration into command, control, communication, intelligence and networks (C3I&N) systems.
The artificial intelligence (AI) driven platform Hyperion has been designed to provide unprecedented situational awareness of political, economic and social risk at country, region and city levels to analysts and operators.
Hyperion delivers real-time insights and automated monitoring, alerting, and forecasting of dangerous events. It was launched by Geospark Analytics last month.
Geospark Analytics CEO and founder Omar Balkissoon said: “Hyperion’s advanced threat and risk assessment APIs can be a game-changer for airforce operations.
“We are excited to be working with the airforce to bring the power of Hyperion to their networks and global systems helping to ensure the safety and security of airman across the globe.”
By incorporating Hyperion’s APIs into C3I&N systems, the global, regional, and local operational understanding for the airforce can be increased using AI algorithms.

By GlobalDataHyperion’s applied machine learning models use data from news, social media, satellites, and other sources to assess risk and activity at various levels in near real-time.
Analysing the content of data feeds, Hyperion’s AI calculates the stability, makes forecasts, and builds summaries for the purpose of displaying global events that impact stability, threat, activity, and risk levels.
Last month, GeoSpark Analytics secured a small business innovation research (SBIR) contract from the USAF to evaluate incorporating its data into the Hyperion platform to be used in intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance (ISR) units and air operations centres (AOC).
