The Israeli Air Force (IAF) has upgraded its Shachaf surveillance aircraft with new surveillance and communication systems and a new interior design to enhance its capability.
The new surveillance system will enable operators to see further without moving closer to dangerous areas.
The system, a new version of the navy’s control and surveillance system, can hold more information than before and collect information in flight.
The surveillance system has been developed by Israel Aerospace Industry in cooperation with the IAF and navy.
The Shachaf planes are part of squadron Anakey Hamidbar, which operates in the Nevatim Airbase of the IAF.
