The US Air Force (USAF) has awarded a contract to Raytheon Solipsys to deliver and install its Zeus situational awareness and collaboration system for remotely piloted aircraft (RPA).
Zeus is derived from products such as the tactical display framework and multisource correlator tracker, which are in use by all branches of the US military services.
Under the $9m contract, Zeus will be installed at 18 Air Combat Command, Air National Guard and Air Force Special Operations Command locations.
Raytheon Solipsys president Mark Trenor said Zeus enhanced the effectiveness of mission participants through cooperation and awareness between RPA and various military units that use RPA intelligence.
Raytheon Solipsys Zeus project lead Adam Stull said Zeus provides RPA operators with a real-time correlated and fused track picture from multiple plot and track sources with collaboration and communication tools, as well as the ability to fully participate in a Link-16 network.
