Iran has successfully test fired two new indigenous air defence systems, Mersad and Shahin, senior Iranian Army commander General Farzad Esmaili has said.
The Mersad air defence system, equipped with Shahin missiles, is capable of hitting targets at distances of up to 150km.
The indigenous mid-altitude system has been developed to boost the country’s missile defence capabilities.
The primary samples of the successfully test fired Mersad and Shahin missiles were delivered for deployment in all air defence units.
