Sikorsky Aerospace Services and Saab have signed a teaming agreement at the 2011 Paris Air Show 2011 to support Swedish Air Force UH-60M Black Hawk helicopters.

Under the teaming agreement, the companies will provide logistics support for the fleet of 15 UH-60M helicopters.

The programme, designated HKP 16, will be operated by the Swedish Air Force base in Linköping, and will commence when the first UH-60M helicopter is delivered later this year.

Sikorsky Aerospace Services president David Adler said the agreement is to ensure aircraft readiness and enable the Swedish Air Force to successfully conduct their missions.

The Swedish Defense Materiel Administration has recently placed orders with Sikorsky for the purchase of 15 Black Hawk helicopters under the US foreign military sales programme.

The Swedish Armed Forces intend to use the aircraft for medical evacuation, utility, and search and rescue missions.
