CAE has been contracted to provide support services for the German Air Force’s (Luftwaffe) Eurofighter simulators and to upgrade Tornado flight simulators.
Under the contract, which was awarded by Cassidian subsidiary GFD Gesellschaft für Flugzieldarstellung, CAE Elektronik will provide a range of maintenance and support services for the Luftwaffe Eurofighter full-mission simulators and cockpit trainers over the next four years.

The contract scope also calls for CAE Elektronik to perform several upgrades to the Luftwaffe Tornado full-mission simulators.
Under the overhaul programme, scheduled to be performed at CAE’s facility in Stolberg, Germany, the Tornado development simulator will be upgraded with a new radar warning system simulation.
CAE will also refit the Tornado simulators at Lechfeld and Jagel with the CAE Medallion-6000 image generator, including enhancements to the weather simulation.
