ThalesRaytheonSystems will provide air command and control systems for eight sites across Europe under the NATO air command and control system level of operational capability 1(ACCS LOC 1) programme.
The software will advance the deployment of an integrated, common air operations management system to support all military air operations across NATO members, ThalesRaytheonSystems chief executive officer Jack Harrington said.
All NATO nations will use the same system to share operational data over a high-speed communications network once fully deployed.
The open-system architecture of ACCS LOC 1 will enable it to adapt to changing operational requirements, such as theatre missile defence and network-centric warfare.
The company will deliver the command systems to France, Hungary, the Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Spain and Turkey.
