The last of the three C-27J transport aircraft was delivered to the Lithuanian Air Force at Siauliai Military Airport in Lithuania on the 21st of October 2009.
The C-27J developed by Alenia Aeronautica can take part in transport of troops, goods and medical equipment, para-drop operations, search and rescue (SAR), support to civil protection and maritime patrolling activities.
The C-27J, which is an advanced tactical transport airplane for transporting troops and materials, will be used by the air force in different Nato-led operations outside national borders.
The first C-27J was delivered to the air force in December 2006 and the second in December 2008.
