The US Air Force has awarded a contract to Dynamics Research Corporation to support the Weapon System Management Information System (WSMIS) programme.

Under the CSC-awarded $7.4m contract, which has a seven-month base period and four one-year options, DRC will provide maintenance, sustainment, integration, and migration services to the air force.

An end-to-end software system, the WSMIS helps air force personnel across the world to track the lifecycle of aircraft parts and weaponry.

The WSMIS programme allows immediate assessment of the numbers and locations of mission-ready aircraft, which is critical to evaluate deployment readiness, by providing real-time data on aircraft parts, weapons status and operability.

Under the contract, DRC will also assist in the integration and migration of WSMIS modules/systems with other air force information technology activities and initiatives.

The initiatives include the Global Combat Support System, Data Services warehouse and the Enterprise Service Bus.
