The Israeli Air Force (IAF) is looking for new training grounds in Europe and Asia to carry out fighter jet operations with an emphasis on long-range missions.
The IAF has recently increased its long-range training missions due to a rise in threats from neighbouring countries, especially Iran, according to the Jerusalem Post.
The Israeli Defence Ministry is looking to extend an agreement signed with Romania in 2006 to deploy Israeli fighter jets for training missions.
Having deployed jets to Romania for training in 2007, the IAF plans to send more aircraft by the end of this year.
The IAF previously used Turkish airspace for fighter training, but has recently been refused access due to its offensive against Hamas and the deterioration in Israeli-Turkish relations.
