BAE Systems has received a contract from the US Department of Defense (DoD) to develop an infrared surveillance system for the USAF’s Wright-Patterson Air Force Base in Ohio.
Under the $49.8m contract, BAE will develop the system to provide a real-time, high-resolution and wide-area video persistent surveillance capability.
The system will allow joint forces to keep constant surveillance on critical areas of interest with high degree of target location accuracy.
Currently, $6.3m has been obligated for the contract.
