C-130 Hercules transport aircraft crews from the Royal Australian Air Force (RAAF) and Indonesian Air Force (IAF) have begun a joint exercise, Rajawali AusIndo, which is taking place from 9-13 August 2010.
During the exercise, both air forces will conduct a series of airdrop missions aiming to use the C-130 Hercules as an effective air mobility platform.
Rajawali AusIndo is being conducted between Australia and Indonesia with focus on areas such as maritime patrol and air combat.
A contingent from Indonesia’s Tentara Nasional Indonesia Angkatan Udara No 32 Squadron will deploy a C-130 Hercules to participate in the exercise.
The RAAF will also use a C-130H Hercules and crew from No 37 Squadron, based at RAAF Base Richmond.
A load recovery team from the Australian Army’s No 176 Air Dispatch Squadron will also be stationed at Delamere Range for the exercise.
