Embraer has signed an agreement with Chile’s national aeronautical enterprise Empresa Nacional de Aeronautica (ENAER) to jointly develop the KC-390 military transport jet for Chile.
The agreement follows the Chilean Air Force’s (FACH) decision to acquire six KC-390 aircraft to strengthen its fleet capabilities.
The Brazilian Government has also shown its intent to acquire 28 KC-390 aircraft for the Brazilian Air Force (FAB).
The twin turbofan KC-390 aircraft is capable of operating from short and semi-prepared airstrips and can refuel in flight.
It is equipped with advanced avionics and dual HUD, a full-featured mission system, including accurate computed air release point (CARP) and a complete self-protection system.
