Sukhoi has completed flight tests of the first serial multirole double-seater Su-30M2 fighter jet for the Russian Air Force.
The test was carried out at the flight test station of the Komsomolsk-on-Amur aircraft production centre.
The Su-30M2 will be handed over to units of the air force after the successful completion of certification tests.
Based on the Su-30 fighter, the Su-30M2 is a long-range strike aircraft designed for precision strikes on ground and naval targets.
The Su-30M2 fighter was initially designed as a single-seat, twin-engine, air defence fighter to counter the US F-15 Eagle and Nato fighter aircraft.
Sukhoi was awarded a contract for four Su-30M2 aircraft by the Russian Ministry of Defence at the MAKS-2009 international aerospace show.
