Harris Corporation has received a contract from the US Air Force Space Command Space and Missile Systems Center to continue support for the Defense Meteorological Satellites Programme (DMSP) ground system.

The $25m contract, awarded under the US General Services Administration’s Alliant contract vehicle, has one base year with four option years.

Under the contract, the company will continue to maintain the DMSP’s hardware and software and support its compliance with information assurance requirements.

The Harris-developed DMSP ground system collects weather data for US military operations.

Lockheed Martin will be the subcontractor.
