Leonardo has partnered with Discovery Air Defence Services (DA Defence) and Inzpire to deliver a live air training solution for the UK Ministry of Defence’s (MoD) air support to defence operational training (ASDOT) programme.
The ASDOT programme seeks to meet the training requirements for all three of the UK’s armed services and Joint Forces Commands from 2020. It will progressively replace existing contracted and military service provision as these programmes expire or reach their planned end of service date.
Through the partnership, the companies will deliver a highly capable and scalable solution to support ASDOT’s live fly tactical training needs until the mid-2030s.
The companies will combine their capabilities and experience in live air aggressor training, air warfare practice, electronic warfare, and airborne systems integration.
In February, DA Defence and Inzpire first announced the partnership to combine their capabilities to support ASDOT.
Leonardo has now joined the team to design and deliver long-term, complex programmes for the UK MoD, including in airborne systems, radars and electronics.
