The US Defense Security Cooperation Agency has notified Congress of a potential sale for the modification and upgrade of two C-130E aircraft to Peru.
Under the estimated $74m foreign military sale, Peru has also requested aircraft ferry, spare and repair parts, support equipment, training and other related logistical support.
The proposed sale will modernise the Peruvian Air Force’s existing aging aircraft and improve its ability to support humanitarian assistance and disaster relief (HA/DR) efforts.
The sale will also enhance Peru’s efforts in conducting maritime interdiction operations as well as improving its counter-narcotics and counterterrorism capabilities.
