Lockheed Martin has awarded a contract to TAT Technologies (TATT) for the supply of an emergency power unit for installation onboard its F-16 Fighting Falcon fighter aircarft.
Covering deliveries of the emergency power unit and additional related components, the Requirements Contract along with a master purchase order (MPO) is expected to reach a total value of $6.2m through December 2018.

The contract represents a continuation of a 30-year business relationship between the two companies, during which TAT has delivered several components for the emergency power unit and additional related components for the F-16 aircraft.
TAT president and CEO Itsik Maaravi said the latest contract demonstrates the company’s strong market position in providing heat management solutions and accessories to the aviation industry.
”We are fully committed to continue to support Lockheed Martin’s F-16 program and are looking forward to expanding our cooperation with Lockheed Martin for additional programs," Maaravi said.
The number of units ordered and the delivery schedule remained undisclosed.

Fitted with a wind-corrected munitions dispenser infrared navigation and AN/APG-68 radar, the aircraft also offers separate air-to-air and air-to-ground modes, including long-range, all-aspect detection and tracking, simultaneous multiple-target tracking and high-resolution ground mapping capabilities.
Apart from Greece, the fighters are also operational with the air forces of Israel, Egypt, New Zealand, South Korea, Chile, Poland, UAE, Bahrain, Greece, Singapore and the US, as well as the Air Force Reserve Command, Air National Guard units and the US Navy.
