AAI Corporation, also known as Textron Systems Electronic Systems, has received two different delivery orders from the US Air Force (USAF) for upgraded joint service electronic combat systems testers (JSECST) and service life extension retrofit kits.
The two orders, worth $11.5m, are a continuation of an existing four-year, indefinite delivery, indefinite quantity (IDIQ) contract valued at up to $43.6m.
Under the terms of the deal, Textron Systems will deliver 95 AN/USM-670A retrofit kits and 15 AN/USM-670A JSECST systems.
The IDIQ contract in total will manufacture and supply 410 AN/USM-670A retrofit kits, 50 AN/USM-670A JSECST systems, 20 Laboratory JSECST retrofit kits and 13 Laboratory JSECST systems.
Work under the orders is being carried out in Hunt Valley, Maryland, US and is estimated to be completed by 30 September 2018.

The use of upgraded JSECST has been approved by the USAF, US Navy and US Army after undergoing six months of rigorous regression testing to prove its capabilities.
