The US Air Force (USAF) has awarded a $174.5m follow-on contract to Raytheon for ground and airborne intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance (ISR) mission support.
Under the contract, Raytheon will provide around-the-clock contractor field support for high-altitude ISR and Distributed Command Ground System (DCGS) mission at various sites worldwide.

The range of ground operations support include system maintenance, operations training and pre-flight system checks. It also provides mission support during flights, post-mission problem analysis, new system installations and upgrades.
Additionally, the Raytheon team will also support data processing and dissemination for unmanned system sensors, ground controls, and data links to the DCGS mission.
Raytheon Intelligence, Information and Services Mission Support and Modernization mission area vice-president Todd Probert said: "Our contractor field service representatives offer mission critical expertise and are intimately familiar with how entire systems work which allows them to successfully support the DCGS mission.
"Our long partnership with the Air Force has allowed Raytheon to seamlessly collaborate with our customer to achieve mission success, we have reduced cost while maximising system availability."
To date, more than 14,000 airborne missions and over 20,000 ground missions have been supported by the company for the USAF since 2005. The services were offered as part of the Contractor Field Services programme.
As a worldwide distributed, network centric, system-of-systems architecture, DCGS performs collaborative intelligence operations and provides both physical and electronic distribution of intelligence. It also offers surveillance and reconnaissance data, processes, and systems.
