Barrett Communications have received yet another significant contract from an important customer in the CIS region.
This contract involves the supply of PRC-2090 Tactical HF (High Frequency) radio communications systems, in various configurations. These systems will be used in both voice and data modes, via Barrett’s CLOVER modems and this contract also include in-country training.
This represents the fourth significant contract from this country’s government over the last few years; the previous three contacts have been completed.
Barrett Communications managing director Greg O’Neill commented: "The customer is very happy with the ease of use and reliability of the products. They are particularly impressed that HF Manpack units previously supplied have operated successfully in heavy snow at -20°C and the fierce summer heat."
Previous contracts have included the Barrett 2075 High power 1kW base stations which are remotely controlled via microwave, from Control centres up to 50km away. These systems were also integrated into existing Soviet era encrypted data modems. Other previous contracts include PRC-2090 Tactical HF manpacks, PRC-2091 Tactical HF mobile vehicle systems and PRC-2092 Tactical HF base stations. This contract will continue to upgrade and enhance this country’s communication capability.
