Asset tracking and condition monitoring system for defence cargo
Developed by TGI together with Wavetrend, GlobalEyes© is the first real-time asset tracking and condition monitoring system that has been developed for the freight forwarding industry.
The system gives stakeholders in the logistics process the ability to find out in real-time where their cargo or container is, when it was there and what condition it is in.
Consisting of an asset monitoring unit (AMU) and a network communications centre called the Information Management Bureau, GlobalEyes uniquely combines GSM, GPS-based tracking with RFID monitoring and security.
The system’s AMU is equipped with a sensor suite that communicates with the web-accessible IMB via mobile, satellite, or through another unit via wireless LAN.
Due to the system’s use of publicly available global communications networks, additional infrastructure is not required.
