Making a debut performance at EUROSATORY 2006, the new CONTROP D-STAMP Daylight Stabilized Miniature Payload is being displayed as an operating system at the CONTROP booth- Hall 6, Stand F-39/10 in the Israel Pavilion.
This revolutionary new system provides a striking look at the world we live in- from the view of a mini-UAV – 500ft to 2,000ft up above. Never before in history has there been a stabilized payload of this size – a mere 650g -, which can provide a daylight picture, so clear and so stable that one might think it was coming from a fixed camera on a fixed platform!
The D-STAMP is a miniature, lightweight, electro-optical, stabilized sensor, which was designed to be carried by a miniature UAV, for tactical ‘Over-the-Hill’ reconnaissance in daylight and/or at night. But don’t be mislead, there are a variety of other platforms on which this mini payload can be put to good use as well, due to it mounting flexibility (horizontal or vertical up/down)- including but not limited to VTOLs, small manned aircraft, aerostats, tactical small observation balloons, manned/unmanned ground vehicles and even manned/unmanned maritime vehicles. From each of these platforms, the STAMP payloads provide a high quality and high-resolution image, unmatched by any other mini stabilized camera system.
The D-STAMP has two unique characteristics, never before met in the small payload market: stabilization and pointing capability. Prior to now, the SUAV operators had to steer the entire aircraft to ‘point’ at the target in order to get a complete picture of it. But even then, that picture was quite shaky and hard to put to good use.
CONTROP challenged these problems/issues and developed the first and only small-stabilized payload for SUAVs – the D-STAMP, which provides a gyro stabilized picture independent of A/C maneuvers and vibrations.
The D-STAMP is a daylight stabilized miniature payload weighing only 650g! This mini stabilized payload has the capabilities of a large EO payload: Stabilized LOS controlled by the Operator, high quality picture with 10x optical zoom lens for day observation without vibrations, point to coordinate and INS target tracking capabilities and more- but without the size and weight. In addition, the D-STAMP features a unique (optional) Scan/Mosaic Mode, Inertial Target Tracking Mode and Point to Coordinate Mode.
CONTROP’s new D-STAMP payload is currently flying on a variety of SUAVs- with tremendous success and great satisfaction from all Operators and Customers, hereby proving that the concept of a quality stabilized mini payload is indeed achievable. The D-STAMP is a daytime-only payload, and the L-STAMP and the U-STAMP are night capable payloads.
