Innovative solutions for Homeland Security and Defense requirements are provided by the state-of-the-art Electro Optics surveillance and reconnaissance systems that are being displayed by CONTROP Precision Technologies Ltd in the Israel Pavilion at upcoming Paris Air Show 2003.

CONTROP Precision Technologies LTD. will be exhibiting three Optronic Cameras: DSP-1, MSSP-3 and CEDAR, at the Paris Air Show 2003.

CEDAR Compact Electro-Optical Intruder Detection System

CEDAR is a highly sophisticated Electro-optical Day/Night Automatic Panoramic Intruder Detection System, which automatically detects motion in a wide panoramic view in real time. The CEDAR is part of a “family” of unique Automatic Intruder Detection Systems providing solutions for ground, air and maritime security. Each of the systems in this series creates a “virtual fence”, offering innovative automatic and passive intruder detection solutions where most required. These state-of-the-art systems serve as passive Electro-optical “imaging radar”, scanning a designated area, and providing protection for a wide range of security and surveillance applications. CONTROP’s systems have unique modes of operations that include Scan Mode for intruder detection and Observation Mode for intruder recognition and identification. One of the many ideal applications for these systems is the security of sensitive facilities including airports, power plants, fuel storage depots, oil refineries, water reservoirs etc.

DSP-1 Dual Sensor Stabilized Payload

DSP-1 is a high resolution, high performance Dual Sensor Stabilized Payload. DSP-1 is a compact lightweight Day/Night observation system especially configured for use on UAV’s, light reconnaissance aircraft, and helicopters. DSP-1 is a four-gimbal system, gyro-stabilized in azimuth and elevation, allowing the EO Sensors’ lines of sight to be aimed and maintained stabilized. The system uses two camera channels: InSb detector Thermal Imaging channel with continuous x22.5 zoom lens and a high resolution color CCD Daylight channel with a x20 zoom lens. The DSP-1 is easily integrated onto a wide variety of carrying vehicles through a flexible configuration suitable to any specific application.

MSSP-3 Stabilized Payload for Maritime Patrol Aircraft (MPA)

MSSP-3 is a Day/Night observation system especially designed for applications on board Maritime Patrol Aircraft (MPA) and patrol boats. Like the DSP-1, the MSSP-3 four-gimbal system, gyro-stabilized in azimuth and elevation. The MSSP-3 is designed to be equipped with three sensors: A high resolution 3rd generation 3-5 micron InSb FPA FLIR camera with an optical continuous 22.5x or 35x zoom lens, a high performance B/W/Color CCD camera with a 15x zoom lens, and an optional Eyesafe Laser Range Finder. The MSSP-3 is easily integrated on a wide variety of carrying vehilces and it is designed for the toughest maritime environment applications.

This display trio at the Paris Air Show is expected to attract hundreds of passers-by, as they stop at the CONTROP booth in the Israel Pavilion to view the operating CEDAR System’s expertise as it scans the aisles and displays people as they proceed from booth to booth. As a panoramic automatic intruder detection system, the CEDAR’s Thermal Imaging Camera detects intruders by day and by night, and is used for the security of Sensitive Sites, Coastal Surveillance, Border Surveillance, Perimeter Surveillance and Security, Ground Troops Security and more.
