Compass Technology Group (CTG), a leading provider of innovative radio frequency (RF) materials measurement equipment, is excited to announce the acquisition of its first Autonomous Mobile Robot (AMR) under the Department of Defense’s Accelerate the Procurement and Fielding of Innovative Technologies (APFIT) programme. This development marks a significant milestone in CTG’s commitment to advancing automated solutions in aerospace diagnostics.
The newly acquired AMR will serve as the foundation for CTG’s Automated Radome Measurement System. Radomes, the protective enclosures for radar equipment on aircraft, require precise evaluation to ensure optimal performance. CTG’s system employs microwave signals to non-destructively assess these structures, identifying potential defects such as delamination or water ingress.
This initiative is part of CTG’s broader mission to develop state-of-the-art equipment and software for testing electromagnetic materials and components across various industries. The company has a history of delivering innovative solutions, including the Adaptive Radome Diagnostic System (ARDS), which utilises collaborative robotics for scanning aircraft radomes.
CTG extends its gratitude to Advanced Control Solutions and Mobile Industrial Robots for their support in this endeavour. The company looks forward to providing its customers with enhanced capabilities in automated radome measurement.
