BORA

BORA is the new Dual Cortex-A9 + FPGA CPU module from DAVE, based on the recent Xilinx Zynq XC7Z010/XC7Z020 application processor. BORA is a compact solution that includes both a CPU and an FPGA, supporting dual CAN, USB, GB ethernet and native 3.3V I/O.

DAVE SRL CEO Stefano Dal Poz said: "Our market is requesting solutions, and not only for embedded hardware. BORA CPU module is in-line with these market expectations and we are excited to propose our customers this platform which combines Xilinx’s know-how and DAVE expertise in high-end solutions."

Features Include:

  • High performance Dual ARM Cortex-A9 @800MHz
  • On board NOR and NAND flash memory
  • Artix-7 FPGA integrated on-chip
  • FPGA banks wide range PSU input from 1.2V to 3.3V
  • Reduced carrier complexity: DUAL CAN, USB, Ethernet GB and native 3.3 V I/O
  • Easy to fit, thanks to its small form factor
  • 5ppm RTC on board

BORA is suitable for high-end applications such as medical instrumentation, advanced communication systems, critical real-time operations and safety and security applications where high performance and extremely compact form factor (85mm x 50mm) are key factors. BORA also allows designers to develop rugged systems suitable for harsh mechanical and thermal environments, thanks to its industrial temperature operation (-40°C to +85°C) and 100g shock rating.

Sarsen Technology MD and Dave UK rep Nigel Norman said: "We are really excited to introduce the ZYNQ-BORA to our customers.

"The computational power provided by this dual ARM Cortex-A9 + FPGA CPU module will make it a key building-block for many demanding embedded applications. The flexible ethernet, USB and CAN bus interfaces makes the I/O connectivity really straight forward and the on-board NOR and NAND flash memory provides the functionality that embedded systems designers are looking for. I also really like the compact size and the development kit."

The BORA evaluation kit includes a SOM, carrier board and all accessories required for immediate start-up.
