Welcome to the July edition of Sarsen Technology’s News Bytes. It’s that time of year again, and we’ve actually had the weather to match the season! Even with the summer holidays starting we are looking forward to a busy August and September, with DSEi, the Defence and Aeropsace Roadshow and visits from our manufacturers on the calendar. If you’re going away, have a great time. If not, we’ll still be here to chat about your embedded application requirements.

- 4-screen rackmount LCD monitor – 4U rackmount display that supports a 4-screen LCD configuration in a rugged component drawer enclosure while only taking up four rack-height units.
New EW and Radar Development Platform
BittWare has introduced a brand new development and testing platform. The VRDP-EW has been specifically designed for electronic warfare and radar applications. An S5-6U-VPX board, featuring two Altera Stratix V FPGAs, is housed in a 2U 19in rackmount enclosure, and the platform includes two VITA-57 FMCs for high bandwidth data transfer to and from the FPGAs. The ADC FMC provides 1, 2 or 4 8-bit A/D channels at up to 5 GSPS directly to the first Stratix V FPGA, and a DAC FMC provides 2 14-bit D/A channels at 5.6 GSPS, directly to the second FPGA on the S5-6U-VPX. The system is supplied tested and configured, speeding up the development process for time-critical applications.
Defence and Aerospace Roadshow 2013
