LMB produce a wide range of fans, blowers and motors for the transport, defence and aerospace markets with applicaitons in aircraft, helicopters, UAVs (Unmanned Air Vehicles), pods and missiles. Founded more than 60 years ago, LMB became a member of the Honeywell group in 2000.
With more than 1,000 off-the-shelf qualified products, we are very flexible and are able to adapt these products to specific requirements in a short time.
Our engineering and manufacturing departments give us an unparalleled ability for new development. For specific requirements, we are flexible in designing custom products in a very short time according to military and aerospace standards. Our manufacturing facility is certified to EN9100, Part 21 and Part 145.
AXIAL FANS, CENTRIFUGAL BLOWERS AND MIXED FLOW FANS
We produce the highest quality axial fans, centrifugal blowers and mixed flow fans.
Our wide range of products includes small fans for electronic cooling, high performance fans for air conditioning and filtration systems.
All our products are designed and qualified in accordance with aerospace and/or military standards. LMB fans are proposed for all types of power supplies: DC brushless (12V to 270V), AC 400Hz and variable frequency. The fans have speed sensors, speed control, failure detection, thermal protection and current limitation.
The main application uses for these products are:
- Airborne radar cooling
- Avionics cooling
- Electronics cooling
- Engine scavenge
- Recirculation fans
- Evaporator and condenser fans
- Galley cooling
AC INDUCTION MOTORS AND CD BRUSH AND BRUSHLESS MOTORS
From 2W all the way up to 5KW, we can provide AC induction motors and DC brushless or brush motors including permanent magnets. They are designed for use on specific applications such as compressor, fan or pump drives.
- Actuator drive
- Compressor drive
- Fuel pumps
- Coolanol pumps
- Flight Control Systems (EHA, EMA)
OUR STRATEGY AND SUCCESS
Powered by direct current, our brushless motor is driven with electronic commutation. This brings considerable reduction of maintenance costs compared with the conventional brush motor.
Adapted for the first time for use in the rail industry, the brushless motor is based on leading edge technology used in the civil aviation and defence industries where before conventional motor commutation was carried out using carbon brushes. Due to friction on the copper collector the brushes wear out. Therefore, brushes and collectors need frequent replacement. This requires disassembling the motor and immobilising the vehicle.
Thanks to the LMB brushless fan, blower and electric motor, this loss of time and money is avoided. It also means that there are no worn out components to be changed either.
