SCOTTY has recently landed an upgrade contract to refit six Diamond DA42 MPP search and rescue (SAR) aircraft in Latin America with the latest SatCom solution.
Originally delivered in 2008, the planes and corresponding ground equipment will now provide headquarters with higher-quality, live video more cheaply and with lighter, compact equipment.
By using the new SCOTTY Communication Platform (SCP) and the Inmarsat Swift Broadband satellite network, even HD video can now be transmitted from the air to headquarters in real time.
The combination of audio, video, and data from these aircrafts will help officials make better life and death decisions and support deployed crews in critical missions.
